Fri 8 March 2024. A quick stroll around Sanada Bori in Yotsuya, Tokyo, near my Univ, before an appointment with a friend. First time actually to walk this 1.5 km loop through all these years I ve been studying and working in this area. Beautiful evening sunshine and really happy seeing a (relatively) big sky this time! Small bits of tiny distances added, 5 k in the day.

日本に来るとアイルランドで普通に歩いているような距離を歩く機会がなかなかとらえられないけれども、この数日は家から地下鉄の駅までとか、博物館の庭とか、ショッピングとか、ちょこっとの距離を積み重ねなんとか一日に5kmぐらい。

３月８日(金)
四ツ谷へ出向いた機会に30分の隙間時間があったので教会へ立ち寄った後、土手に登って夕陽を眺めて真田堀ミニウオーク。
何十年も四ツ谷に通っていて、この一周を意識して歩いたのは学生時代以来だったことに気づきました。
そういえば散歩の好きな友だちと四ツ谷から渋谷まで歩いたとか、酔っぱらって土手を飯田橋まで歩いたとか、新宿通りを提灯行列で半蔵門まで練り歩いて帰って来たとか、昔の記憶が甦ってしまいました(笑)。
折から「今年度の卒業者数が確定した」というニュースが同窓会から入って、「そうでした、この時期は卒業判定で現職の時代は忙しくて散歩なんかする余裕もなかったかも」と遠い目。

ともあれ、夕刻の四ツ谷散歩、広い空が眺められて幸せな時間でした。

Fri 8 March 2024. St Ignasio Church on the side of Sophia University in Yotsuya, Tokyo. I was a bit early for my appointment, so I walked into the Church for a mini moment of prayer. And met some sheep an beautiful flowers. I know there are some fishes on the stained glass in this very modern space, but first time noticing this one. Happy discovery

聖イグナチオ教会ではステンドグラスの羊めーめーと春の花に出逢いました。お魚たちがいるのは知っていたけれども羊やお花は初めて。
