7月17日　１週間前の折り紙ワークショップに続いて、再びダブリンのチェスタービーティー美術館で、子どものためのバイリンガル絵本読み聞かせ。
息子がチビッコの頃大好きだった桃太郎を選びました。 @mother_tongues_ireland
桃が じゃくっとわれて ほおげあーほおげあーと産まれた桃太郎。

なんといっても、ここのところがいちばん大好きなのだー！When they were about to cut the peach in half, the peach split open, and a beautiful baby boy jumped out from it! The old man and the old woman were stunned! But after a while, they took the baby and named him Momotaro, The Peach Boy, because he was born from a peach.

今回もまた、Aoiちゃんといっしょで心強いです。
英語訳を担当して、日本語とのかけあいのタイミングなども、細かく考えてくれました。
「バイリンガル読み聞かせ」は初めて。
本番は、小さな子どもさん３人連れたお父さん、お母さんと、日本語を勉強しているというテイーンエイジャーがふたり、来てくれました。こじんまりして、やりやすかった。
二人連れは姉妹。お姉さんは２週間後にはJETプログラムで日本へ行くことになっていて、北区で教えるのだそうです。こんなふうに、他の文化に開かれた若いひとに出会う機会のあることが、アイルランドにいて嬉しいことです。

ずんずん出かける桃太郎　 “Momotaro dear, mind yourself. We’ll be waiting for you to defeat the ogres and come home.”

わんわん、きゃっきゃっ、けーんけーん　と、お供の動物の登場がリズム感があふれています。声に出して読むのがほんとうに楽しい。 Momotaro set out on the journey to Ogre Island. At the edge of the village, he met a dog. わんわん “Momotaro, sir, where are you going, marching along?” “I am going to Ogre Island to fight the wicked Ogres.”
