Last week-end, we had a summer festival in Roundwood and lots of activities were proposed on this occasion, like several kinds of guided walks, canoe race on the Reservoir lake etc.  I participated to Sat morning guided walk ‘ Crone Wood to Luggala’.
We were about 30 people all together and that was a really nice day out.
We went up to the top of the Djouce Mountain as we did once on Bank Holiday in May  (Click here for the story) but from the other side.  It was completely covered by misty-foggy cloud and we didn’t see anything …
This time, we had a beautiful view all around. Really nice walk.

Le week-end dernier, c’était la fête d’été dans notre village à Roundwood.
Ils ont organisé plein d’événements à l’occasion: mini-concerts, différentes sortes de marches guidées, course de canoës sur le lac-réservoir, etc. et donc nous avons participé à la marche de samedi matin.
On est tous transportés jusqu’au point de départ, à 15 minutes environ du village, à l’entrée du bois de Crone.
Un trajet intéressant, à traverser le bois, ensuite descente vers la rivière, remonter la pente vers le Mont Djouce et enfin pour redescendre vers la route ‘Wicklow Way’, vers le site qu’on avait vu au début mai.

Cette fois-ci on a pu vraiment apprécier le paysage tout autour et c’était très agréable.
Je commence à connaître un peu mieux la géographie du coin. Ces montagnes font moins de 1000 m ont l’air très hautes quand même!  J’adore marcher de cette manière.

先週の週末（７月１９−２０日）は近くの村ラウンドウッドの夏祭りでした。村のすぐそばの湖でカヌー競争、くじびき、綱引きなど、いろいろなイベントがあったなかで、土曜日の午前中は３種類のウオーキングに参加者を募ってました。子ども向け、歴史散歩と「初心者でも大丈夫な山歩き」のコースです。村祭りのオーガナイザーのところにメールを出して申込み。いつもの散歩仲間といっしょに参加です。

今回もまた、初めてのコースでわくわく。朝９時すぎに村のまんなかの待ち合わせ場所まで送ってもらって、そこからミニバスに乗り込んで、村から１５分ぐらい北へ行ったところの出発点まで運ばれて行きます。
ラウンドウッドはウイックロー山地の山々が連なっているところの、東の中腹です。
少しダブリン方向（北のほう）へ行ったところの谷底の、森のあるところから歩き始めでした。
ここから少し谷の斜面をたどって、大きな滝を見下ろす高台に出たり、ひとつ谷を下って川を渡ったり、反対側へ向けて（つまり南側へ）斜面を登りジャウス山の頂上に至る、わりあいに変化に富んだコースです。無理なく、でもわりあいにコンスタントに、早すぎもせず、遅すぎもせずのペースで歩きました。
ジャウス山は、５月５日の祝日の日（日本の子どもの日、アイルランドも「バンクホリデー」でした）　みんなで東側（裏側）から登った同じ場所です。

５月のときは頂上が霧に覆われて、周りの景色が何も見えなかったのだけど、今回は斜面をどんどん登るにつれて、ラウンドウッドの村の貯水池の湖がきらきら光っているところや、ウイックロー山地の山々も遠くまで見渡せました。
帰りは下のほうに通っている道のところまでミニバスが迎えに来てくれました。
村へ戻ると、教会の「信徒会館」のホールで　暖かい野菜スープとパンと紅茶をおばちゃんたちがふるまってくれました。
とっても楽しいウオーキング、新しい知り合いもできました。
