2nd surprise about wonderful Japanese thing in Ireland　!

This one was also my local friends Margaret and Mary’s proposition: ‘Let’s go to a Japanese Flower Festival together in Dublin’
WHAT??? Japanese Festival? What kind of event? Where?
…. No worry,  Mary went there already last year, she said it was very nice and Margaret will drive there !
And here we are, Sunday 13 April, we spent the entire afternoon to have a look in this beautiful Farmleigh Garden, to enjoy different kinds of stands and demonstrations which were all japanese cultural something (traditional drum, caligraphy, kimono dressed friends, small kids singing…) in the ‘Experience Japan, Hanami Festival 2014’. http://www.farmleigh.ie/TourofFarmleigh/
Lovely big event, amazingly beautiful garden, interesting visit of the house on the site, nice family friendly ambiance…
Delighted to find out about this annual japanese event in Ireland.

Second volet de la ‘découverte japonaise’ était carrément ‘la fête de Hanami (‘Cerisiers en fleur’ ) à Dublin’, intitulée ‘Experience Japan’. Mes amies locales Mary et Margaret m’ont proposée d’y aller ensemble et me voilà transportée comme une princesse (!) dans la voiture de Margaret, dimanche 13 avril, en compagnie des deux filles, qui savent très bien comment s’y rendre. Parfait!!
C’était donc une excellente occasion pour moi de découvrir un immense espace du Phoenix Parc (707 ha!!) –  tout un domaine d’espace vert, avec des collines, étangs, résidences, hôpital, vaches, chevaux, etc… on a traversé tout ça pour arriver vers une très belle et élégante résidence et son jardin  ‘Farmleigh’. http://www.farmleigh.ie/TourofFarmleigh/
Le festival japonais se tenait dans ce jardin, avec des stands de produits japonais – des jeux, des démonstrations de la caligraphie, des petits concerts, de la lecture de poèmes, des démonstrations de Aikido, de Karate… tout ça dans une ambiance familiale, très sympa.
En plus j’ai rencontré quelques anciens de l’Université Sophia, que j’avais déjà vus en novembre dernier à Dublin, dont Monsieur Atsumi l’Ambassadeur du Japon en Irelande. On me dit que chaque année c’est à la même période de l’année qu’on organise le festival des films japonais, et la fête de Hanami.
Quelle agréable surprise!! … et tout cela grâce au réseau d’amitiés locales!!

日本のお花見祭りが毎年この時期にダブリンで開催されているとのことで4 月13日（日）行ってきました。すごい賑わい！！
なんと村の友だち　メリーとマーガレットのふたりが、「サチコ、日本のお花見祭りがあるから、いっしょに行きましょ」と誘ってくれたのです。
なに？お花見祭り？？？　どこで？　・・・「連れてってあげるから大丈夫」
というわけで、車に乗せてもらって、お姫様のように案内されて　ご機嫌なお出かけでした。

会場は、ダブリンの都心をちょっと西のほうにはずれたところにある、広大なフェニックス公園（なんと７００ヘクタール以上もあるそうです）　その中にある「ファームリー」という庭園です。
フェニックス公園は昔は鹿の猟場だったということだけど（ちょうどウイーンのプラター公園と同じですね）　今は市民の憩いの場所になっていて、ヨーロッパの都市公演のなかでも最大規模ということです。高速道路からちょっと走って、門を入ってから、まだまだ丘を越え、川の流れているのを眺めながら、ずーっと広々とした緑の草原が広がっているところを走って、「ファームリー」のほうへ行きました。
車を駐車場に置いて、とことこ歩いていくと、立派なお屋敷の建物があります。現在は「迎賓館」として使われていて、天皇皇后両陛下やエリザベス女王様やオバマ大統領も滞在したところだそうです。http://www.farmleigh.ie/TourofFarmleigh/
このお屋敷の庭園いっぱいに、「日本のお祭り」が展開されています。
日本の人の姿もちらほら見えるけど、ほとんどはアイルランドの家族連れのひとたちが来ている感じです。
コスプレしてる若いアイルランド人のひとたちを眺めたり、合気道のデモンストレーションや　ラーメンやさんに長蛇の列ができてると ころを眺めたり・・・　とってもおもしろかったです♪
美しい庭園で立派な木々や綺麗な花をたくさん眺めて、のんびり過ごした日曜日。
アイルランドでこんなにいっぱい日本が見られるなんて。びっくりしました！　しかも、地元の友だちのおかげさまっていうところが、嬉しかった☆
