This week, we had 2 days solid-rainy-coldish days and in this case, I am relaxing writing blogs etc in my new ‘office’ area – very nice space which opens to a wooden deck. These days there are some baby-birds who are still getting fed by their ‘mother’ – or ‘father’, who knows? – and once again, Johnny told me they were ‘pied wagtails‘.
‘Pied‘??? I automatically think ‘But what to do with foot??? ‘ (‘pied’ in french is ‘foot’ – 😉  ) … and then Bernie explained ‘pied’ is an old english word meaning ‘black and white’. Ahhhh sooooooo!!!!!

… Anyway, once spotted, these cutie babies are completely mind (and time) catching and I can’t stop myself to make photos…

今週は水、木と２日間、朝から晩まで雨もよう。コンピュータに向かってると、目の前のベランダに鳥の赤ちゃんたちがいて、気になって気になって・・・
月曜日に初めて姿を見たのだけど、どうも他の場所に行ったり、こちらのベランダにやって来たりするみたい。あれれれ・・・？？？　２兄弟と思ってたら３兄弟だった！　　こちらでいちばん元気に飛び回っているセキレイの一種　ホクオウハクセキレイ pied wagtails (Motacilla alba yarrellii)　の巣立ったばかりの雛のようですよ。こちらを見てね

セキレイの種類もいろいろあるみたいで、この黒白ツートンカラーのセキレイさんはイギリスとアイルランドにたくさんいる種類のようですね。
黄色のお洋服のきれいなヒトやら、夕方になるとクロウタドリたちも。そこらじゅう　赤ちゃんでいっぱいという感じです。物置の軒下にはツバメさんが巣を作っていて、エサを運んでいるみたいだけど、近寄ると気の毒だから、あまり見ていません。昨日は散歩に行くとき、放牧地の入り口のそばに座ってたクロウタドリの赤ちゃん　慌てて逃げ出して木にとまろうとしたら、ぽたっと下の薮のなかに落ちてしまいました。ビックリさせて、ごめん！！

Mais ils sont trop mimi, ces petits bébés qui sont partout…. Cette semaine, on a eu 2

journées entières de pluie – mercredi et jeudi-, avec seulement 12- 13 degrés dehors brrrr… et je n’ai pas pu quitter des yeux ces petits bébés qui attendaient patiemment leur maman(ou papa) de revenir avec quelque chose à manger. Et il n’y a pas que des ‘pied wagtails‘ – ‘Bergeronnette de Yarrell’ en français … je voir d’autres oiseaux comme celui qui a une très belle couleur jaune – bergeonette des ruisseaux peut-être… ; et encore des bébés merle noir. C’est vraiment une très belle saison pour eux, de grandir dans cette verdure. Ils n’ont pas du tout besoin de se cacher. Ils se baladent partout, tout près de nos fenêtres.
